Nagnomei
Nagnomei began many years ago as I was just beginning my writing career. Originally it was meant to be a simple heroic/adventure story but has since bloomed into a series packed with distinct characters and my own take on society's moralities and practices. (Since what fun is being a writer if I don't get to pass that on to all my readers?) In this series I pack all of my love for medieval lore, shiney swords, handsome men and beautiful damsels, and not to mention a plethora of magic. I've always been a fantasy heroine at heart and this is my culmination of that genre's efforts. It will soon be my debut series if the cosmos will allow, with the first book, after nearly eight long years, on its "final" (they are never final, you know) rewrite. Each book is named after one of the kingdoms/various places located on the planet of Nagnomei. Preceeding this is a factor of that book's plot. Premise: Nagnomei follows the lives of various characters as they grow and wander the continent in order to save lives and research moments of their species' past. Underlying all of this is a Parthenon of eclectic Gods and Goddesses that both help and hinder them, all the while trying to keep the ever-evolving mortal culture from discovering what really put them on that planet. I seem to always make it a point, as like a tradition, to continue working on this series non-stop every November, as it is currently my back-up series to Nagnomei above. Premise: After two immortal sorcerers make an ominous bet about the possible fates of planets, one of them loses his senses and becomes the greatest terror that the universe has seen as he quickly unravels the codes of planets and obliterates them without feeling. The only ones to stop him are a pair of feeble mercenaries that have been put into the "Process", a sacred Karma-like magic that traps and forces a soul to be repeatedly reborn in order to attain a specific goal. In this case the mercenaries are ordered to stop the mad-man, forced to live through and die alongside their planets until their objective is achieved. No. of Books: 5 1st: Rebirth 2nd: Revenge 3rd: Reunited (TENTATIVE) 4th: Rescape (TENTATIVE) 5th: Renewal (TENTATIVE) Tokyo-Shi Tokyo-Shi is a convenient series for me, as in that it is a series of short stories compiled together into volumes that are what I use when I either A) need a short story on the fly for whatever reason or 2) just need to practice writing short stories. It is inspired by my life in Japan and my interactions with its people. The title is a play on words, since "shi" is a suffix for Japanese cities (such as "Tokyo") and also doubles as the first syllable in the main character's name "Shibue". Premise: Shibue decides to leave his isolated home city of Matsuyama, Shikoku, to strike up a life in Tokyo as a starving college student. (That is, if he can ever get into a college.) There he lives with his first-cousin, Shingo, and experiences the big city via a cast of strange characters and antics that can only happen in a city of such calibur. No. of Books: Unknown |
